Bookazine, the independent wholesaler based in Bayonne, NJ, has generously underwritten the membership in the American Independent Business Alliance (AMIBA) for NAIBA. Read more...
In addition, Bookazine will underwrite the in-town presentations by AMIBA to local business alliances. Bookazine will cover up to $500 for the first eight NAIBA-member bookstore alliances who host an AMIBA orientation in their towns.
Bookazine believes that the future of the book business depends on locals supporting locals. As an independent wholesaler in the NAIBA region, their interest is in the strength, growth, and vitality of their independent bookstore customers. "The survival of independent wholesalers is absolutely and irrevocably linked to the survival of independent booksellers," says Bookazine executive v-p Richard Kallman, "I am proud to support the work that NAIBA has embarked upon in this important movement." They have been following NAIBA's advocacy of independent alliances, and consider it to be the business model that will make a difference for independent bookstores.
Bookazine's support of AMIBA will to allow NAIBA bookstores to join forces with local merchants in educating developers, government officials, and consumers to the importance of buying local, for both economic and lifestyle benefits.
