Description:
This is Where I Leave You is a hilarious, poignant, lewd, straight to the soul novel that is perfect for those looking to cure the summer time blues this August.
Tropper's take on the Foxman family and their many wonderfully outrageous character flaws had me laughing out loud and inwardly nodding. It is a spot on take on the social anxieties, mores, family dynamics (or lack thereof) in our current faced paced society where communication is best left unsaid. The plot revolves around the Foxman family sitting Shiva after the death of their father. What transpires is 7 days and nights of wild action sure to keep readers turning to the last page and wanting more. Tropper has the ingredients that book groups at the independent's in the NAIBA region will relish. Mix together the profane comedy of Larry McMurtry's "Terms of Endearment", a pinch of the wit and satire of Kurt Vonnegut, a dash of the desire to make sense of death and the ensemble cast of Big Chill and the family dynamics that can only happen when you mix white clothes with colors and you have a taste of Tropper's talent.
